Black Mountain Wilderness
Desert Dog Canyon
Opal Mountain
Expedition to Lost Lake
While en route to the Lost Lake, the Desert Dogs stumble upon a
Mojave Green, the most poisonous rattlesnake in North America. They
later learn about petroglyphs and even stumble upon some geocaching
purely by accident.
Andyana Jones & the Raiders of the Lost Lake
Andyana Jones & the Raiders of the Lost Lake: After leaving
Corn Springs, the Desert Dogs drive for four hours and return to the
Lost Lake (see Episode 5).
There seems to be a particular affinity toward the obscure dry lake.
There is rock art in the area, atl-atl points on the ground, and
abundant wildlife in and around the Lost Lake.
Before you go searching for the Lost Lake, you have to realize that
the name is probably an unofficial name. I believe it was first
dubbed The Lost Lake by Bill Mann in his Guide to 50 Interesting and
Mysterious Sites in the Mojave. I guess it's a fitting title.
Sorry, no real plot here. We just show up, get attacked by a
humongous dust devil, look for petroglyphs, and seek out desert
wildlife.
There is some excellent footage of snakes here, though. And anyone
with a love of desert archaeology will appreciate any of our
episodes.
We've also added another feature. While driving back home, we stop
by some obscure restaurant and rate it. This time it was Richie's
Diner in Rancho Cucamonga.
